Templates, sections, modules, what’s the difference?

Let’s simplify and explain the difference starting from the smallest to the largest component:

A module on HubSpot can be: a button, a slider, a video, an image, a text block, a testimonial card…
A section on HubSpot is a grouping of several modules. For example, in a “testimonial” section you might have: a title, an intro text, testimonial cards, videos, buttons…
A template is simply an assembly of sections. For example, a homepage template might consist of: a first section introducing your business, a second presenting your services, a third presenting your team, and so on.

On HubSpot you can work with all three:

Use pre-configured templates to create your pages and just fill in content.
Customize your pages by modifying sections in your templates.
Use modules to add elements or even create your own sections! HubSpot lets you save custom sections you’ve built for reuse wherever needed.

Templates / live page, what’s the difference?

A template is a default page structure. On the websites we develop you’ll typically find: a homepage template, a services template, an about template, a blog template. A template isn’t meant to be published as-is. It provides a pre-built structure from which our clients will create their live pages by adding final content.

If/else agency can also help you set up your live pages, once templates are developed, via content implementation, but this is a separate service that is not included by default in the web development phase.

What’s a “global group”?

Global groups on HubSpot are very useful! For example: the header and footer of your site are global groups.

The idea: display them in multiple places across your site but update only once.
Suppose tomorrow you need to add a new page to your menu. You won’t update 100 pages manually! You’ll just update one header and it will reflect correctly across all your pages.

The good news: we can apply this to anything you want! A logo carousel, client testimonials… Anything that repeats and must remain identical across pages can be a global group. Just ask :)

How long does it take to deliver a website on HubSpot?

It depends on what you assign us and how many templates are involved, execution time varies and is also influenced by client response times. In general, if we’re only handling the web development of your HubSpot site, we’re able to deliver in 1 to 1.5 months max. If you also entrust us with the web design of your site (before the HubSpot development), we’re closer to 2.5 to 3 months.

Please note: these figures are not absolute truths, logic prevails: if your request is for one template only, delivery will be much faster than for ten!
